Word of Mouth | A Sicilian’s Food Nostalgia

Sicilians have so much pride on being Sicilian. Their sense and sensibility towards life is anchored by the land, the people, the culture and of course, the food… traditional Sicilian food, the rustic kind.

Word of Mouth is a self-funded passion project so it’s just me and my camera… no camera crew… it’s a DIY film-making project. I’m not a chef, an Asian pop-star or a celebrity of any sort… just your average Joe Blow from Australia. I am, however, super passionate about the art of artisanal food production and traditional handmade food.

This video is the first episode in a self-funded six-part web-series which focus on Sicilian artisanal food. The web-series is called Word of Mouth. It’s a travel food documentary series with an emphasis on untold local stories. The episodes range from handmade cheese-making process, artisanal ancient chocolate, all the way to chomping on delicious street food in Palermo.
