The Rookies is a documentary series following nine amateur athletes with full-time jobs as they prepared for their first Ironman event (3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and then a 42km marathon). The five-part series was filmed over five months for sporting apparel brand 2XU.
In this final episode, the Rookies learn the art of suffering. We see how they prepare and perform from collectively taking on their first Ironman in Cairns. Has the training over the last five months been enough and will they be able to complete the course?
