World Aquatics Championships | Doha
Project Purpose:
The video opener was crafted for the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar, held from February 2nd to 18th. This biennial event brought together over 2,600 top athletes from 201 countries, competing in 75 events across competitive swimming, artistic swimming, diving, and water polo.
The video was NOT made as a brand video to be released prior to the competition. It was produced specifically to be played at the venue in front of a live audience. It aimed to inspire the audience for the competition and also shift perceptions, positioning Doha as an exciting hub for aquatic sports, challenging the typical desert association.
Project Scope:
The creative vision for the project involved blending the explosive energy typical of sports videos with contrasting “quiet” moments that highlighted the beauty of water, athleticism, and Qatari culture. By juxtaposing these elements, the goal was to heighten the overall impact, creating a more dynamic and engaging viewing experience.
